Due to Vault’s ongoing growth and commitment to delivering secure cloud solutions, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our Operations team to take ownership of managing, maintaining, and enhancing cloud infrastructure that supports critical cloud regions. The role is based in our Canberra office and will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and security of Vault’s cloud infrastructure.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing, maintaining, and enhancing cloud infrastructure supporting critical cloud regions.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced network solutions in highly classified environments.
• Ensuring Vault’s next-generation cloud solution remains available, secure, and continuously delivers customer value, protecting Australia’s most critical data.
• Acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues unresolved at Level 1.
• Executing configuration changes and maintaining accurate system records.
• Supporting deployments in a DevOps structure, working closely with product teams.
• Driving continuous improvement in infrastructure maintenance and operational processes.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with: 

• The scope of this role requires an Australian Government Security Clearance; therefore, applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
• Experience supporting Linux environments, including Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Hands-on experience with: Cloud Infrastructure – OpenStack; Storage – Block and Object Storage (Ceph/Swift); Automation – Ansible, GitLab, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins; Networking – Cisco, Cumulus, Fortinet
• Flexibility and availability to participate in a 24/7 roster.
• Experience working in operational environments with mission-critical tools, including:
• JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, Check_MK, Elastic, MAAS
• MySQL, PostgreSQL, Grafana, Microsoft VDI
• Restic, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, FreeIPA, Radius, and other DevOps tools.
